The E-mount 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 OSS LE is the perfect travel lens, covering everything from sweeping landscapes, portraits, sports, and wildlife. With an 11x zoom range, it goes from 27mm wide to 300mm telephoto in 35mm full-frame format, providing superb image quality at every focal length thanks to its advanced optical design and Optical SteadyShot image stabilization. Despite its impressive performance, it's the lightest and most compact 18-200mm zoom in the E-mount lineup.

When adjusting the aperture to defocus the background, the light sources become blurred, producing a desirable 'bokeh' effect. This lens enhances the bokeh effect with circular aperture blades. While conventional aperture blades create unappealing polygonal-shaped defocused points of light, the unique design of α lenses results in almost perfectly circular apertures, allowing for smoother, more natural defocusing.

This lens also addresses chromatic aberration, which affects image quality, contrast, color quality, and resolution, especially at telephoto ranges. It features ED glass that dramatically reduces chromatic aberration and provides superior contrast even at large aperture settings. Super ED glass further enhances compensation for chromatic aberration.

Through its aspherical lens design, this lens dramatically reduces spherical aberration, resulting in high sharpness and contrast even at maximum aperture. Aspherical elements reduce the total number of required lens elements, contributing to reduced overall size and weight. Advanced Aspherical (AA) elements, with an extremely high thickness ratio between the center and periphery, significantly improve image accuracy and quality.

The lens includes gyro sensors that detect movement and shift the stabilization lens to counteract image blur. It also features precision, quiet linear motors, and technology inherited from premium Sony professional camcorders, resulting in exceptionally quiet and effective image stabilization for high-quality movies and stills. The optical system's middle groups move to achieve focus, maintaining a consistent lens length. It also has fast autofocusing and a short minimum focusing distance. The filter thread at the front of the lens does not rotate, making it convenient for the use of a polarizing filter.

Finally, the E-mount 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 OSS LE offers high-magnification zoom with image stabilization, a minimum focus distance of 0.3m (Wide) – 0.5m (Tele), and a maximum 0.35x, covering a focal length of 18-200mm.
